With the first results of the year in hand, there are many brands that have offered the data of the volume of sales and purchases of their vehicles. This is the case of Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, which achieved significant growth in the first half of the year, especially in the net market share and achieving a new billing record in the after-sales system.

With a total of 56,857 commercial vehicles registered in Spain, we find a drop of 35% compared to the same period of time as in 2021. This has been mainly due to the supply crisis, the conflict in Ukraine, economic uncertainty and rising inflation, which have set the pace for sales worldwide.

Registrations of Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles have reached 4,600 units during the first six months, registering a fall in line with that of the Spanish market. On this, Alberto Teichman, general director of the group, has pointed out that they have not stopped working to offer the best possible service: “From the first moment, we have worked in the search for solutions to serve our customers in the private channel and companies and try to prioritize these orders. This has penalized our sales in the rent a car channel, in which we have been less active than we would have liked under normal conditions of availability.”

In the field of vehicles of renting, we find a 9.2% share, a very important market for the brand, where they confirm the good state of the group. Closing the volume of spare parts purchases with a new record that represents 19.6% compared to 2021. Therefore, they will focus on working on expanding their network of rental points.

Renewing the range

At Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles they have set out to make history ands that so far have closed the best cycle of releases in their history. This is the case of the Multivan, which in the first six months, 80% of the sales of the new model correspond to the PHEV version, reinforcing the premium positioning of this model as an alternative to SUVs.
