In recent months there has been much talk that there is a problem of supplies of materials that endanger the evolution and manufacture of models in the long and short term. Now, with many brands enhancing their business model that have continued to supply raw materials to their warehouses and production factories, has been enough to increase vehicle production by 34.6% during the last month of June where they have been focusing on car production.
The war in Ukraine and the shortage of silicon for the manufacture of microchips, has been key in the first half of the campaign. Vehicle production closes June in positive, and logra reach 232,407 units, with an increase of 34.6% compared to the same month of the previous year. To reach this figure, the low level of production in 2021 and the fact of accumulating new materials has been essential. In the accumulated of the year a total of 1,135,087 units are obtained, although it represents a fall of 5.8% in the first semester.
With still many doubts about the real impact of the pandemic, by type of cars, passenger cars, industrial and commercial vehicles have had an increase between 27% and 72% respectively. In parallel with the rise in production figures, the export of vehicles has increased in June by 25.2% compared to the same month of 2021, with a total of 189,497 units.
In the European market they have a high inflation and that places the brands at times similar to the post-pandemic. In the case of exports, moderate growth is expected. Specifically, during the month of June exports to Europe accounted for 73% of the total units shipped outside the borders of Spain, after registering an increase of 22.2% in the volume of deliveries compared to the same month of the previous year.
Regarding electric, hybrid or alternative models, there was an increase of 25%, standing at 26,625 units manufactured. In the case of Spain, the production of electrified vehicles (BEV and PHEV) reached 9.4% of the total national production, representing almost all of the manufacture of alternative vehicles.
