Toyota Spain and Sony Interactive Entertainment Spain will launch a limited edition of the new Toyota Yaris GR SPORT Electric Hybrid. The exclusive model will be limited to 100 units for the Spanish market and its commercialization will start from next March 4, coinciding with the launch of Gran Turismo™7.
The new Toyota Yaris GR SPORT Electric Hybrid will bear the GT7 Edition name and will feature exclusive details such as an exterior GT badging, an interior nameplate with a limited serial number, as well as a personalized smart key and fob.
In addition, all units of this limited edition Toyota Yaris GR SPORT will include:
- A PlayStation®5 console
- A standard physical copy of Gran Turismo™7 for PlayStation®5
- An extra DualSense™ wireless controller
- A 3-month subscription to PlayStation®Plus
The agreement between both companies will be reflected on the track, both in real and virtual form. On the one hand, PlayStation is going to become one of the main partners of the TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Iberian Cup, the new one-make cup launched by Toyota Spain, Toyota Caetano Portugal and the Motor & Sport Institute (MSi), in which teams and drivers will share the limelight with an edition of the Toyota GR Yaris RZ prepared specifically for competition.
PlayStation will have a presence with different activations in the different events of the competition, as well as preferential spaces in the stages and in the paddock area. In addition, the cars in the competition will carry the Gran Turismo logo on the sun visor of the front window, as it appears in virtual Gran Turismo™ competitions and numerous other motorsport competitions.
On the other hand, Toyota will also play a leading role in the second edition of the Spanish Gran Turismo Championship, the official local competition that will soon launch a new season with Gran Turismo™ 7 as the protagonist. Toyota will be integrated into the different Grand Prix of the championship, will have a one-make test and will put the finishing touch to the competition by offering the winner of the championship a Toyota Yaris GR SPORT GT7 Edition as a prize.
Additionally, Toyota and Sony Interactive Entertainment Spain have reached a joint international collaboration agreement coinciding with the launch of Gran Turismo™7, the exclusive driving game for PlayStation®5 and PlayStation®4 that will go on sale next May 4 of March.
Toyota and Gran Turismo™ have collaborated closely over the past few years globally. As a result of this, exclusive models such as the Toyota GR Supra Racing Concept, one-make competitions such as the TOYOTA GAZOO Racing GT Cup, as well as the presence of Toyota as an official partner of the FIA Gran Turismo Championships, have been released. Now this collaboration is extended locally in a long-term relationship that will include agreements in different areas of action by both companies.
On March 4, at the Sony Interactive Entertainment Spain and Toyota event, the prices of this Limited Edition Yaris GR SPORT GT7 Edition will be revealed.
Toyota Yaris GR SPORT
The Toyota Yaris GR SPORT has recently been incorporated as a new member of the GR SPORT family, with a sporty design finish that configures access to the TOYOTA GAZOO Racing universe. It represents the second generation of Yaris GR SPORT that arrives in Spain and the fourth member of the GR SPORT range at present along with Corolla GR SPORT, Corolla Touring Sports GR SPORT and Toyota C-HR GR SPORT. Hilux GR SPORT will soon join them.
The new Yaris GR SPORT, which is marketed only with a 1.5 Dynamic Force 85 kW / 116 hp hybrid electric motor, stands out from the other versions of the Yaris Electric Hybrid range for its design with TOYOTA GAZOO Racing DNA.
Thus, on the outside, it has new 18-inch alloy wheels with machined red segments, honeycomb design front grille, with GR logo, and rear diffuser. Inside, it includes GR SPORT sports seats with fabric upholstery, red stitching and GR logo, as well as a three-spoke perforated leather steering wheel and red stitching.
