More and more brands are betting on Spain as the venue for their launches and the climate and roads make it one of the favorite places. In this case we are talking about Toyota that has presented one of its crown jewels in Andalusia. For this he has chosen the roads of Seville and Huelva, next to the Monteblanco circuit, to launch its new Toyota GR86, which joins the GR family, alongside the Toyota GR Yaris and the Toyota GR Supra.
To do this, they have opted to incorporate a design thinking about the enjoyment of driving by the driver, being a purely digital car and is that we find a model that is access to the GR range of Toyota. With a warrior and sporty spirit, we find the base of the GT86, which maintains the traditional configuration of front engine and a powerful rear-wheel drive.
The Toyota GR86 we find a powerful purebred engine. Therefore, we are presented with a new 2.4-litre boxer engine with an atmospheric character. In this case, they have taken the opportunity to increase the power and torque, reaching 234hp at 7,000 rpm and 250Nm at 3,700 rpm, achieving a powerful acceleration from 0 to 100km / h in just over 6 seconds. All this is complemented by a revolutionary gearbox of six manual ratios, something that helps to have a smooth acceleration from the beginning.
An unparalleled aesthetic
In the case of the Toyota GR86, the nods to the sporty essence of Toyota are maintained, as is the case of the 2000GT or the Toyota AE86, incorporating some aerodynamic aspects of high competition. The objective of the engineers of the Japanese firm was clear: achieve more agile performance and response. For this, they have opted for aluminum and other light and resistant elements, reinforcing the frame so that it has greater rigidity. The suspension system also incorporates settings to optimise the ride feel. This model will be sold only in Europe, being exclusively for customers from the old continent, with a starting price of 32,900 euros.
