There are many companies that are committed to generating and redefining themselves strategically in order to surprise with a remodeling of their facilities with the intention of producing a new strategic commercial model addressing a more sustainable environment. In Audi they know it well, and that is that the concern for the environment, sustainability and environmentalism has led the German firm to install its own on-campus technology park in an old refinery in Ingolstadt.
To find a sustainable model, it has been used to treat the soil and waters of the area, which is located in a strategic point being the largest of the industrial transformation of Bavaria, where agriculture was in the foreground. All this is enhanced with a high-tech area and biotype area. In this way, we find a factory of ideas of 42,000 square meters to shape the technology of the future. The automotive software company CARIAD has already been installed in its competence center.
One unused area of 22 hectares was contaminated and needed to be regenerated, as revealed by the 1,200 drilling operations and 50,000 laboratory analyses. The area has undergone a complete rehabilitation since 2016, throughout a process that has already concluded.
At Audi, new ideas and professional cooperation to advance innovation point the way to the future. As a place of collaboration for the brand of the four rings and its technological partners, the IN-Campus already offers a vision of what tomorrow will be like. And in doing so, one thing becomes clear: it is not an anonymous technology park, but an integral part of the city of Ingolstadt.
