Audi wants to be the first manufacturer in the world to uses centralized server technology in series production. At Böllinger Höfe, near Neckarsulm, the Audi e-tron GT quattro and R8 share an assembly line. This type of evolution in production systems allows P-Lab projects to be tested and tested for application in large-scale series production.
All this is possible thanks to the technology of the Edge Cloud 4 Production system, where thanks to remote control it is possible to regulate demand peaks causing a more efficient consumption of resources. Therefore, time and effort will be saved especially when it comes to software implementation, operating system changes and computer-related expenses.
With this type of system you can eliminate industrial computers, improving the safety of all processes. In case of interruption, lthe load can be moved to other servers. Instead, a broken down industrial PC needs to be replaced, which takes time. In addition, this solution reduces the workload of employees.
