There are many factories and brands that have found themselves in a hard process of reconstruction and new generation of surprising and groundbreaking future models. This is the case of Renault, which in the headquarters they have in Palencia have taken the definitive step in the production and innovation of the new Renault Austral. This model is the first to be manufactured from the 2021 and 2024 industrial plan.

To be in the reference they have renovated all their facilities, installing demanding quality controls and all this under an environmental premise. Renault Austral is at the forefront of innovation in the sector, proof of this is that it has been industrialized with the new platform of the CMF-CD Alliance. To do this, have installed about 400 robots, reaching 1320 in the welding area. The Palencia plant is part of a Manufacturing 4.0 pilot project, where advanced technologies will help in the diagnosis of breakdowns (DAVE), Digital Portal of the Head of Unit and numerical cameras.

Being faithful to their demanding Renault Group decarbonization program that aims to reach carbon neutrality by 2040, the Spanish factory has taken the step so that all the electrical energy consumed is green. To do this, they have a system “Energy Portal” whose objective is the online monitoring of energy consumption to avoid drifts; performs 100% of the water treatment using biological membranes.

Currently in the Spanish factory have more than 1000 engineerss that are working on the manufacture of the Captur, Megane and Austral models. Being part of a modern and collaborative building, the R+D+i center has a very important role in the Nuevo Austral, they have worked on electronics, electrification and batteries.

In this sense, the Valladolid Body Factory manufactures the tailgate, made in the plastic injection line of Valladolid, from where other parts also arrive such as the battery, the front and rear bumpers, as well as hot drawing parts. In the case of the Refactory of Seville will manufacture the gearboxes, while the engines will be produced in Valladolid.
