The new one Smart #1 it has been the product of the Chinese automaker Geely in conjunction with the German giant Mercedes-Benz. This new SUV will be launched first in the local market of the Asian giant and is expected to reach dealerships during the third quarter of the year, once it begins its production at the new Geely factory in Xian Smart. Its price starts from 190,000 yuan (27,282 euros) for the Pro+ version, while the Premium variant will cost from 230,000 yuan (33,025 euros). However, the brand already accepts reservations through an app for 500 yuan (72 euros) for those interested.

Available in two versions

The new one Smart #1 will be available in the following versions: Pro+ and Premium. Both variants will feature a single electric motor delivering 200 kW (272 hp) and 373 Nm of torque. This propeller is powered from a 66 kWh battery pack, but in the case of the Premium version, this differs from the Pro+ because it will have silicon carbide elements inside the engine, which allows it to offer a greater autonomy of up to 560 km in CLTC cycle or 440 km in WLTP cycle if compared to the Pro+ version that only offers 535 km in CLTC or 420 km in WLTP cycle.

In the cockpit, both versions technologically feature a 9.2-inch digital instrument cluster along with a head-up display. For its part, the infotainment will be controlled from a 12.8-inch touch screen. In terms of assistance, it has the Pilot ADAS intelligent system that offers the Smart #1 a Level 2 autonomy.

Its exterior design features a front with optics joined by an LED strip, a front grille at the bottom of the bumper and two small air intakes to the sides. In its saga, to match the front, it incorporates rear lights joined by a light strip that runs the entire width, while in the B-pillar there is a ‘Mercedes-Benz design’ badge, which indicates that the design of the SUV was completed in the German brand’s own design studio.
