At a time like the present, where large vehicles, such as motorhomes or campers are gaining ground in recent years, it is not surprising that many firms have taken a step forward generating new designs much more competitive and that they have the right configuration to respond to the needs of most of their potential customers. Under this premise, Opel has been working on sustainable models that guarantee the correct urban and external mobility. This is the case of the new Opel Zafira-e Life, which will be present at the international caravan show in Dusseldorf.
When we talk about this model, we refer to the perfect camper for large families who want for their holidays a comfortable, flexible and, above all, emission-free vehicle. Opel offers the Zafira-e Life in the lengths “M” (4.95 m) and “L” (5.30 m), which makes it ideal both as a vehicle for transporting people in hotels and as a large family vehicle, or simply for those who need more space and want to move without emissions.
According to the needs of each user, they have generated two types of lithium-ion batteries, which are located under the floor of the body, without subtracting space from the trunk. On the one hand, it has a 75 kWh and a range of up to 322 kilometers or with 50 kWh and a range of up to 224 km, in both cases under the WLTP cycle.
Charging the Zafira-e Life is as easy as using it. Through a wall box, a fast charge or even, if necessary, with the cable for charging from a domestic plug, Zafira-e Life is ready for a variety of charging options. From a 100 kW charging point with direct current (DC), with the 50 kWh battery it only takes about 30 minutes to reach 80% of its maximum level (about 45 minutes for the 75 kWh battery).
Opel offers on-board chargers that guarantee to be plugged in for as little time as possible and that the battery (which has a warranty of 8 years/160,000 km) has a long service life. Depending on each market and infrastructure, the Zafira-e Life comes standard with an 11 kW three-phase or 7.4 kW single-phase on-board charger.
