There are many brands that have not stopped working on designing and producing new models that are destined to make history thanks to their technological advances and in terms of sustainable mobility. Renault have not stopped doing so since its inception, either with a direct transmission gearbox or with its last great launch, the Megane e-Tech 100 electric, which was necessary to have more than 300 patents.
In this model, we have an oil-cooled Renault engine in the synchronous engine, with a winding rotor. This means greater efficiency thanks to the strategic placement of the 4 new injectors. This allows to contribute to the compactness of the engine, and at the same time reduce by 33% the generation of electric motors.
With its new cooling system, the Megane E-Tech 100% electric engine is kept at an optimal temperature thanks to a combination of simple and effective technical solutionss: oil spraying at specific points in the engine and an optimized oil circuit. These patented innovations have made it possible to design a compact, ultra-powerful and ultra-efficient electric machine for the benefit of the driving pleasure experienced by the user.
According to Renault’s ueT head of electric technology, they have been working in several areas to complete their evolution: “For an electric motor to be efficient it must have a good cooling system. That is why we have developed two patented innovations in this regard with my colleagues in Japan and Cléon. The first is the oil cooling of our synchronous engine with winding rotor. We have placed injectors at strategic points to spray the winding of the electric machine and cool the rotor and stator at the same time. The second trick is to use rotor dynamics using a ring system to increase stator cooling.”
