The crisis of urban four-wheel mobility is a fact. It is true that more vehicles are being sold than in recent years, but there is a significant decrease in that aspect. So much so, that the first half of the year we have found a decrease of 10.7% of sales and registrations in Spain.
The month of June registered a 7.8% decline in registrations of passenger cars and SUVs compared to the same month of the previous year, with a total of 89,252 units. This is mainly due to the pessimism and uncertainty generated economically generated by the war in Ukraine, the increase in inflation and price and the microchip crisis that continues to occur. This has caused registrations in the last month to have fallen, but it should be noted that in the accumulated of the year sales to individuals and companies remain with a slight growth.
So far this year, a total of 407,757 new vehicles have been sold, which is 10.7% less than last year during the same period. Of course, it should be noted that we find a significant decrease in the average emissions of new vehicles sold, standing at 121.7 grams of CO2 per kilometer traveled.
If in the past month we find positive figures in registrations, in June there was a drop of 2% and 35,551 models sold. Of course, in the rental channel it maintains a downward pace, which registers about half of the units than the same month of the previous year, with a decrease of 43.1%. The only positive figure this month has been the growth of companies that have increased by 18% in June.
A complicated month
In the field of light commercial vehicles, we find a drop of 32%, with 10,446 vehicles sold. In the accumulated of the year, a total of 56,857 units are added, which represents a decrease of 35.4%. On the other hand, in industrial vehicles, buses, minibuses, sales have increased by 23%, with more than 2,000 units sold. On the industrial side, most segments grow, highlighting heavy commercial vehicles of more than 16 tons, with an increase of 30.8%. As for the buses achieve a growth of 5.3% in the last month.
