At a time like the present, where the evolution of society and new modes of consumption are in the foreground, there are many brands that have been working to enhance safety and low consumption, all this, leaving an almost undetectable mark on the environment. Under this premise, several brands have generated a new trend, as is the case of Renault, which with its latest launches environmentalism is in the foreground. This is the case of the new Renault Megane e-Tech 100% electric, where the latest elements of the sector have been incorporated to offer an unprecedented experience.

To take this step forward, Renault have had to completely redesign their way of dealing with change. So much so, that the manufacture and assembly of all its active part (rotor, stator, power electronics and reducer) are carried out at the Cléon Factory (France), while R&D is concentrated at the Renault Technocentre.

Renault’s new electric motor, has been characterized by a new winding system on rotor, that allows it to be a more environmentally friendly system, promoting robustness and reliability. On the other hand, performance has been optimized by limiting the use of electrical energy (thanks to a modulated current), which also limits the waste of energy, especially at high speeds on the highway.

Through a new patent, Renault has thus designed a synchronous motor with winding rotor without permanent magnet for New Megane E-Tech 100% electric. This has meant that materials such as neodymium, which has a complicated treatment to generate, have less toxic waste. Now, lThe motor magnets have been replaced by copper coils, whose order and travel of the cables have been studied to resist the centrifugal force of the rotor.

Renault engineers allowed wear and high consumption are reduced, thanks to the magnetic activation inside the car and the losses that have been associated. A new mobility model has been built where safety is at the forefront with an eye on sustainability.
