There are firms that have decided to break with their current product lines and in recent months have opted to reduce their range. This is the case of the French giant Peugeot that has prepared for the new campaign and offer a more limited catalogue in the European Union. Now, the lion firm has highlighted that the 208 range will have fewer versions, some of which dominate the B segment.
In recent days there has been a lot of rumors about what happened, but the brand has given the official version. The harsh crisis that is plaguing the global automotive landscape has shaken the world of four wheels. In this case we find ourselves with a serious problem of shortages of parts and microchips. This has caused that in the French firm they have decided to readapt to the new times and thus get the new models with a new management of the available chips, something that will make it more efficient.
In that sense, we find a new range of 208 that has opted to disappear and remove the most basic finishes from its products. In this way, the Access and Like finish will not appear in the configurator. Not content with it, they have done the same with the Style range. In this way, we find an entrance price higher than the previous one. Currently we will have the Finishes Active, Active Pack, Allure, Allure Pack, Gt and GT Pack, with an entry price of 19,040 euros.
In the new entry range, we have bluetooth, usb, LED daytime running lights, various airbags, air conditioning, central locking and a set of height-adjustable front seats. In this way, we can have a comfortable and safe car with high-level finishes.
Readjusting the power
In the case of the engines of the Peugeot 208, in the French firm they have opted to have three types of engines, Diesel, gasoline and electric. In the case of diesel, we have a 1.5-liter blueHDi engine of 100 hp that is combined with a six-speed manual transmission. For its part, in the case of the gasoline engine, it has a 1.2-liter pureTech engine of 100 hp, which can be combined with an automatic or manual gearbox.
