At a time when the technological revolution and urban mobility have taken a step further, it is possible that we will find ourselves with new business models. Opel continues to work in different areas and have launched the new fuel cell electric vehicle. We are talking about the Opel Vivaro-E Hydrogen, which is committed to a displacement with zero emissions and that promotes prolonged autonomy thanks to a fuel that is unprecedented.
When we talk about the Opel Vivaro-e HYDROGEN it is the ideal light commercial vehicle for fleet customers who need to travel long distances or refuel in a few minutes. Consisting of a hydrogen fuel cell and a plug-in battery, it works to reach 400 km and has an estimated charging time of three minutes, something similar to what it takes to fill the tank with diesel or gasoline in a conventional car.
The new Opel Vivaro-E Hydrogen has a vload olumen up to 6.1 cubic meters and a payload of 960 kg, with a towing option up to 1000 kg. The principle of operation of the Vivaro-e HYDROGEN is simple: from hydrogen and air the fuel cell generates electricity to power the electric motor. The only product of this reaction is pure water vapor coming out of the exhaust pipe.
When we talk about the fuel cell, we find ourselves with a capacity of 45kW, which generates enough power for long motorway journeys. For its part, the 10.5 kWh lithium-ion battery, located under the front seats, provides the peaks of charge when necessary.
A very well equipped model
You may not know it, but Opel has thought of everything and that is that the new Opel Vivaro-E Hydrogen has an unusually wide range of driver assistance systems that improve safety. The equipment includes a 180-degree panoramic rear view camera, blind spot warning and Park Pilot at the front and rear. This model will be manufactured at Opel Special Vehicles in Russelsheim.
