According to Sofiane Amaanan, Project Manager of Development and Innovation in the Engineering and Projects Management of Renault, they have incorporated a set of improvements that allow the sound not to be heard at all: “To improve the acoustics of the vehicle while gaining space between the floor and the battery, we have replaced the two heavier materials on the floor with a new insulating foam. Covers the entire surface of the battery located under the floor to ensure the homogeneity of the assembly and it brings a greater silence in the cabin, which is thus transformed into a real bubble”.
On board the New Megane E-Tech 100% electric, the silence is immediately perceived and its occupants are invaded by the sensationn is to be traveling in a bubble. The designers removed the elements traditionally used for soundproofing under the carpet of the vehicle, including a heavy piece made of resin, and placed a new patented cushioning foam under the floor of the New Megane E-Tech 100% electric. Such foam adapts perfectly to the shape of the floor at the top and the battery housing at the bottom.
