In recent years, electric and sustainable mobility has been promoted, generating a new hybrid business model that favors displacement through urban and non-urban centers without leaving a carbon footprint. Some brands have gone a step further with prototypes that are destined to mark a turning point, as is the case of KIA, which have incorporated the latest generation technology to make a groundbreaking model. With the KIA Niro we find a compact vehicle which is designed to meet the needs of users no matter how.
With the intention of dominating and conquering the terrain C-CUV, with a practical and elegant design, was conceived in the third generation of the KIA K platform. For this, the engineers have taken the maximum performance and thanks to an adjustment of the suspension and steering systems it provides a high level of comfort, while providing an agile and confidence-inspiring driving experience.
With a length of 4,420 mm, a width of 1,825 mm, a height of 1,570 mm and a wheelbase of 2,720 mm, the new Niro improves the proportions of the cabin. With three propulsion systems, the engines PHEV and HEV benefit from Kia’s Smartstream 1.6 GDI petrol engine with low-friction ball bearings, they feature a six-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
The variant HEV produces a maximum power of 141 hp when combining the four-cylinder 1.6 GDI unit with the 32 kW permanent magnet synchronous electric motor. LA PHEV version, whose electric motor reaches 62 kW, offers 183 hp of maximum powera and provides an electric range of up to 65 km (WLTP combined cycle, with 16-inch wheels), sufficient for most everyday journeys.
The new Niro EV (e-Niro) combines a range of up to 460 km with a power of 150 kW and an instantaneous torque of 255 Nm that provide a lively response. With a top speed of 167 km/h and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h of 7.8 s, the new e-Niro allows you to move effortlessly and easily in all conditions.
