David Brown Automotive and Marshall Amplification of the UK have partnered to create a special edition of the Mini Remastered. The model celebrates the 60th anniversary of the company famous for its role in rock and roll history. As we will see below, it is a sensational, historic car, and that has no comparison with any other today.
Celebratory
The model, itself a celebration of an icon of the 60s, is distinguished by the use of a unique color palette, designed to remind buyers of Marshall’s famous amplifiers. That means a body painted in “Marshall Black” and highlighted with gold details.
The bespoke colour treatment includes the Marshall Gold hand-painted trainer line, the striped fabrics and the brand logo along the side doors. However, the highlights go far beyond that. Behind the 12-inch “Classic” wheels, the brake calipers have a finish of the same golden tone. Meanwhile, on the front, beyond being enameled gold, the grille is designed to resemble the mesh of a Marshall amplifier. Meanwhile, other glossy works have a dark chrome finish, for a “seductive, rock and roll” look.
The external
The headlights come or keep their round shape, but this time they feature advanced LED technology. The dipped headlights come in LED. Surely the most outstanding aspect is the gold grille. The bumper of the car is thin, black, very original to be a year of previous decades.
On the sides the door locks come in the same color of the body, and the mirror housings do not clash. The gilding remains constant thanks to the lines that border the roof and the lower part of the doors.
The rear has with it a shark fin-shaped radio antenna, a third stop at the top of the glass, LED brake lights, auxiliary lights on the bumper and two exhaust outlets in the center.
The cabin
Inside, the same theme continues. The pedals, for example, also have a gold finish and are engraved with “skip track”, “pause” and “play” motifs as a nod to Marhsall’s musical formation. Of course, the sound system was also updated for this model with unique features designed as a partnership between David Brown Automotive and Marshall. New tweeters on the dash, additional speakers on the doors, and improved equipment on the rear package shelf all contribute to a better audio experience. The glove box also features an induction charging point for Marshall’s latest wireless headphones, in case you want a more personal listening experience.
On top of all that, the trunk is leather-wrapped and houses a fully integrated Marshall DSL1 combo amplifier that slides out for easy access. And finally, owners will also get a portable Bluetooth speaker with their car. As a nod to the company’s anniversary, David Brown Automotive will build just 60 Mini Remastered Marshall Edition models that will be painstakingly handmade.
Final Details
To complement this work David Brown himself expressed that they are very influenced by music and partnering with such an iconic brand to create this special Mini Remastered, and help them celebrate 60 years in the business, a momentous milestone, was an opportunity that we did not want to miss. It seems fitting to pair the classic Mini and Marshall, two British icons, and in doing so inject the Mini, a favorite among music stars over the years, with a great rock and roll appeal. The resulting car reflects the meticulous work and evokes the greats of the genre.
