There are many brands that have been working on unifying and presenting really renewed models in such a way that the main characteristics of the vehicles are enhanced. So much so, that firms like Mini have offered a large number of innovations to an increasingly select audience. Now, the British artist Lakwena has set to work with one of the cars of the firm and has given it her peculiar touch within the program Mini Recharged.
When we talk about this model, we find a noisy, bright and colorful car that has become a real work of art. On this occasion he refers to the model of 1986, being the year of his birth. Within this project, the original engine has been replaced by a new electric engine. To do this, it has continued within the program that Paul Smith inaugurated and so much so, that they have worked in different areas so far to achieve a surprising model.
The collaboration between Lakwena and Mini began in 2020, and he has managed to paint the façade of a grey skyscraper in Munich during the IAA Mobility 2021 motor show, expressing mini’s joie de vivre and central motto with his mural “BIG LOVE”. The artist has been keeping British culture in mind in each of her projects. “I hope this MINI Recharged makes people feel good and puts a smile on their face. This MINI is a festival of colors of cultures“, explains the artist.
MINI will represent the BMW Group as a sponsor of the beach volleyball and climbing competitions at Munich’s Königsplatz. The atmospheric sounds of a MINI converted into a DJ booth accompany the exciting matches on the beach volleyball arena. In the MINI Pavilion on Lenbachplatz Square, the European Championships will be accompanied by a varied programme of fitness, nutrition, mindfulness, art and music, including the MINI Recharged Lakwena from 12 to 17 August 2022. Finally, on Saturday night, MINI celebrates diversity with a BIG LOVE UNITED party.
