MINI declares its dedication to its roots with the Resolute Mode, a new model inspired by the brand’s past that will start at $35,900 in the United States. It is a really striking car, with which the British manufacturer aspires to become one of the biggest sellers in recent months.
Mechanical capabilities of this Mini
The trim can only be ordered on the 2-door MINI Cooper S Hardtop and costs $1,000 more than the standard model. That means it’s powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 189 horsepower (141 kW/191 hp) and 206 lb-ft or what would be about 279 Nm of torque. With the standard six-speed manual transmission, it reaches 60 mph or one hundred kilometers per hour from scratch in just 6.5 seconds, while when equipped with the optional seven-speed Steptronic dual-clutch transmission, it takes 6.4 seconds.
The tones of the car
Performance is an important aspect of the spirit of this car, so its exterior is finished in Rebel Green, which is inspired by British Racing Green. Previously, the colour was exclusive to the MINI John Cooper Works and here contrasts with the roof and mirror housings in Pepper White. The bonnet stripes, meanwhile, feature parallel lines in light and dark gold tones and there is a “RESOLUTE” inscription on those stripes, as well as on the trims of the door sills.
The glossy finishes surrounding the headlights, radiator grille, side fins, door and tailgate handles, air intakes and fuel tank cap are finished in Resolute Bronze, which is exclusive to this model. The MINI logo, the model name, the grille itself, the exhaust pipe trim and the exhaust system are all finished in Piano Black, by contrast.
Seen in detail
From the front you can see the aforementioned changes, with that short hood but that is thrown forward, and maintains an opening in the center to keep the engine cold while you are moving. The grille of the car is small, in grid and in black. On the sides of the bumper we have air inlets, which are complemented by the air intakes that are located under the grille, on the sides and at the central level.
On the sides you can see the alloy wheels or wheels of the car which are black and hide its brake system composed of calipers and discs on each of its wheels. The door locks are the same body color, although the mirror housings are combined with the roof color.
The rear features a roof antenna, a decorative sports spoiler, a third stop, LED brake or stop lights, manufacturer’s slogan right in the center, a kind of grille or grille in the lower area and two exhaust outlets.
Part of your cabin
Inside, drivers are greeted by an anthracite roof cladding and sports seats, which are upholstered in the exclusive Black Pearl/Light Checkered fabric and synthetic leather. Nappa leather sports seats can be selected alternately at no additional cost. The golden lines of the exterior continue on the inside to form a striped pattern. The Resolute Edition also has a toggle switch that can be used to activate sportier driving characteristics of the suspension and driving systems.
The MINI Cooper S Hardtop 2 Door Resolute Edition went into production in March and has already begun arriving in the showrooms of American dealerships.
