At a time when technology is fundamental and aerodynamic and technical innovation have made the competition, and especially Formula One become the reference in a sector that they have dominated from the beginning incorporating certain systems then little by little to the street. This is the case of Mercedes that have surprised with the launch of the new Mercedes AMG One, that taking advantage of the half century of life of the German giant has presented an exclusive hypercar that has hybrid propulsion and more than 1000 hp of combined power.
It is a vehicle that has a fuel consumption of 8.7 liters per 100 km, and CO2 emissions of 198g/km, which are complemented by a weighted electricity consumption of 32 kwh at 100km. The high-performance hybrid vehicle is equipped with an internal combustion engine and four electric motors and develops a total power of 782 kW (1,063 hp). With all this, a maximum speed limited by electronic factors of 352km/h is reached.
In this model they have opted for a carbon fiber monocoque and body, through the engine/transmission unit with load-bearing functions and active aerodynamic components, to the “Push rod” undercarriage with pushrods. The 1.6-litre V6 petrol hybrid engine and simple turbocharger with electric assistance they are comparable in their technology to the components of the current Formula 1 engine. On this tree is mounted an electric motor of about 90 kW of power. This engine drives the turbocharger shaft directly with electronic regulation, accelerating the compressor wheel to a maximum speed of 100,000 rpm before the exhaust gas flow takes on this task.
A completely renewed model
This vehicle comes equipped with great driving programming, from a mode standard (Race Safe), through Race, EV, Race Plus, Strat 2 or individual. Of course, if you activate the Race Start button you get an acceleration from 0 to 200km / h in just seven seconds. The transmission of force to the rear wheels is carried out through an all-new 7-speed manual transmission, developed especially for the Mercedes-AMG ONE.
