The Chinese brand Changan, has launched in the Asian giant a new car of small size that will come to face another that has been one of the favorites of many, the Wuling Mini EV. This has been the joint result of Changan New Energy and CATL and has been built on Changan’s EPA0 platform. This is the new Changan Lumin Corn, whose sale price is not yet available, but its manufacturer has revealed that it will reach dealers during the second half of the current year with a warranty of 3 years or 120,000 km and its powertrain will have a warranty of 8 years or 120,000 km.
A small car
The new Changan Lumin Corn is very small. Its measurements cover 3,270 mm in length, 1,700 mm in height, 1,545 mm in width and a distance between its axes that extends for 1,980 mm. In terms of design, the Lumin Corn has a two-door body, with a front with luminous LED optics with rounded shapes and a small grille just below the license plate holder. To its sides we get with door handles flush with the body, while the saga presents rear lights that, as in its front, are circular. The list is completed with black and white painted hovercraft wheels that serve an aerodynamic function.
Inside there will be capacity for four people, this cabin incorporates leather and fabric inserts and includes the seats. On a technological level, we have a multifunctional three-spoke steering wheel followed by a small group of digital instruments. The multimedia system will be controlled from a 10.25-inch touch screen, while the climate control will be adjusted through physical buttons.
The powertrain consists of a 41 hp electric drive. This engine is powered from two battery packs: one of 12.92 kWh that offers up to 155 km of autonomy and another of 17.65 kWh that promises an operating range of up to 210 km. A new version with a 48 hp engine with a 27.99 kWh battery that can reach up to 301 km of autonomy is pending for the future.
