Urban and non-urban mobility has not stopped growing until reaching a moment of stability where sustainability and environmentalism are in the foreground. So much so, that there are many brands that have been working to promote an energy transition with low carbon emissions. In this case, Iveco has established itself as one of the brands that have offered greater technology management of natural gas and biomethane, where the future of neutral emissions is practically a reality.

So much so, that for example an IVECO S-WAY CNG/LNG truck Biomethane-powered can now offer a 95% reduction in CO2 and, with certain raw materials, it is even possible to achieve negative emissions with a reduction of up to 121%, as shown by a recent study of the sector carried out by the Italian National Research Council (Cnr).

With the intention of leading the process of decarbonization of the sector and having the smallest carbon footprint, they are working on the Plant the Future project, with which according to Giandomenico Fioretti, they intend “Reinforce our commitment to sustainability. IVECO is a pioneer in natural gas technology with more than 20 years of experience in decarbonizing logistics operations.”

IVECO has the collaboration of several organizations that have been dedicated to reforestation and collaborate in the planting of trees in different countries. In the Italian case, they have partnered with the e-commerce platform Treedom to plant 300 trees in the Basilicata region. In this country, the project has been linked to the IVECO Ambassadors for Sustainability, with 50 trees planted in the IVECO Forest in honor of Biogas Wipptal and another 50 to GLS Italia.

In the case of Poland, it has a partnership with ECOBAL, with whom it has committed to plant 5,000 tree seedbeds on a 5-hectare plot to increase the biodiversity of the area and support the compensation of CO2 emissions. In Germany, IVECO is planting one tree for every IVECO S-WAY of new natural gaso and used IVECO Stralis NP sold through the PLANT-MY-TREE reforestation project created to offset carbon emissions. To date, 2,100 trees have been planted through this initiative.
