The high pollution that is occurring in recent years has put the conservation of the environment in jeopardy. Since the beginning of the automotive industry, many firms have been emitting emissions and waste into the ecosystem. Under this premise, brands such as Hyundai has joined other companies to recover biodiversity of the area and give a new life to the elements that are at the bottom of the sea.
Hyundai has been aware of the serious problem that exists in the environment and have now joined with the organization Healthy Seas, which it is characterized by conserving the seas and oceans. On this occasion, they have focused their new scope of action on the old continent and especially in Croatia, Greece, the United Kingdom, Slovenia and Spain, where they will carry out different actions to promote the circular economy.
The collaboration between both companies has focused on waste collection, beach cleaning and diving events where abandoned nets are removed from the seabed or losses that may affect the health of the flora and fauna of marine ecosystems. Under this intention, together with one of the partners of Healthy Seas, Aquafil, the nylon threads of the recovered nets will be recovered to manufacture the new mats of the Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6 models.
Different actions in Europe
Last year they visited the Makria Pounta area in Ithaca, where one of the largest clean-ups of abandoned fish farms was done. Now, a year later, they have started to finish the work they left halfway, removing the remaining waste, attracting the attention of many tourists and curious people who wanted to see the difference. During this project, managed to recover more than 23 tons of waste, of which tons were fishing nets.
Another of the most important actions they carried out has been in Tossa de Mar where they have made several educational days for the little ones that were complemented with a removal of more than 30 meters of nets which were in the area of the coral reefs of the Costa Brava.
