Based on the K2 platform where the Kia Seltos and the Hyundai Venue are built, a new exponent is added by the Asian brand Hyundai that will be launched in the nation of South Africa. The new SUV is named after: Hyundai Grand Creta 2022, an SUV that as the name implies, is a large SUV that unlike the common Creta will be offered with three rows of seats. Its engine availability will consist of two engine offerings, while at the equipment level, two variants will also be available. The new one Hyundai Grand Creta 2022 it is almost identical to the SUV that was offered in India about 12 months ago, namely the Hyundai Alcazar. Its price for South Africa starts at 449,900 Rand, about 27,795 euros approximately.
Characteristics
The new Hyundai Grand Creta is larger, about 7.8 inches more than the standard Creta, while the wheelbase also presents an increase of 5.9 inches, so with these measures, it has been possible to install a third row of seats. On the other hand, in terms of load capacity, the Great Crete offers 180 liters of space with the third-row seats upright, a figure that increases to 1,670 liters if the third-row seats are folded.
In terms of equipment, the Great Crete will be available in two options called: Executive or Elite. The first of these, the level Executive features an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It also has a reversing camera, headlights with Full LED technology and specific 17-inch wheels. For its part, the option Elite it’s the top of the range and has the same features as the Executive, but adds larger wheels at 18 inches and digital instrumentation with a 10.2-inch screen.
The engine will have two variants: the first is the naturally aspirated 2.0-liter gasoline block that delivers 156 hp and 191 Nm of torque. The second option is the 1.5-liter turbodiesel block that sheds 113 hp and 250 Nm of torque. Both engines will come standard with a six-speed manual transmission, but optionally can be ordered with a six-speed automatic transmission.
