In Ford have been working on a technology that allows customers and drivers to focus on the road.
The new Head-Up technology makes drivers look at what’s important. Now Ford is testing a new headlight technology that it could help those behind the wheel literally keep their eyes on it. To do this, this new technology helps to project all possible signs on the road itself, whether directions, speed limits or weather information.
In Spain, 29% of traffic accidents occur from nochand. This risk increases every time the driver takes his eyes off the road. A vehicle driving at 90 km/h travels 25 metres per second, which means that even a brief glance at the navigation on the car’s screen can mean “driving blindly” for ten metres or more.
Thanks to the use of this type of high-resolution headlights, they will help drivers to have all the necessary information on the road, project pedestrian crossings, and in case the road markings are discolored, this system helps to establish all possible safety models.
Ford’s Lars Junker said this type of system will help the evolution of technology go a step further and reduce potential driver distractions: “What started as a game with a projector and a blank wall could take lighting technologies to a whole new level. ToThere is now the potential to do much more than just light up the road, to help reduce the stress of driving at night.. The driver could get essential information without having to take their eyes off the road.”
