It seemed incredible, but there are many users who have been interested at some point in hybrid or electric vehicles and it is not for less. The future of urban mobility has been going down this road for several years. Based on this premise, in recent years there have been many brands that have opted to investigate in this area. This is the case of Seat and in particular cupra. LCupra’s history began in 2018, and two years later it opted for electrification with the launch of the CUPRA Leon e-HYBRID of 204 and 245 hp, with plug-in hybrid technology, and the presentation of the CUPRA e-Racer.
It all started with the Cupra León, which was the pioneer and had aa variety of engines and had a high-performance plug-in hybrid powertrain, helping dynamism and efficiency go hand in hand. The CUPRA Leon e-HYBRID with ZERO label has 245 hp that propel it up to 100 km / h in less than 7 seconds and an electric range of 52 kilometers.
In cupra they have not been satisfied with going to the easy and is that they launched the Cupra Born that has a sophisticated electrification system that help it to have a unique propulsion system. All this is accompanied by a Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC) system, which adjusts the firmness of the shock absorbers, a specific ‘Sport’ adjustment of the suspension developed exclusively for the CUPRA Born, oversized brakes and tires, or a progressive steering system with specific adjustment.
Creating the story in two years
Few brands have helped the electric mobility sector in this way. In Cupra they have developed in just two years an extensive range of electrified models. Customers can choose between the Formentor, Leon and Leon Sportstourer, with the 1.4 e-HYBRID propulsion system of 204 or 245 hp of power. The electric CUPRA Born has versions of 150 kW (204 hp) or 170 kW (231 hp).
With more than 100,000 units sold, the firm does not stop growing. Its next goal is to achieve 500,000 units per year, expand its commercial network and shoot up its turnover to 5,000 million euros.
